Rough Week

This past week started out great on Saturday afternoon, watching the Bearcats dismantle Missouri Western, but after the game we rushed out to the Emergency Room in Maryville to meet Grammy. She had been complaining about her stomach bothering her a lot that day and couldn't take the pain anymore. She spent the night in the hospital there in Maryville and then was transferred to Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph. On Sunday night she was rushed into surgery because there was a perferation in her colon that was allowing things into her body. During the surgery they told us that they found a tumor in her rectum and that the perferation was next to the tumor. She is in the hospital still, recovering from the surgery and trying to get rid of the infection. She is doing well and looks really good. We have been able to take Robbie up to see her everyday. We have a long haul ahead with treating the cancer but she is so strong and such a fighter that we know this will all be taken care of very soon.
